Drake Drops 'Back to Back (Freestyle),' His Second Meek Mill Diss Track in Four Days

Drake 2, Meek Mill 0.

Meek Mill might have bitten off a little more than he can chew when he called out Drake for having ghostwriters last week on Twitter. At first, it seemed like Drake was going to ignore the accusations. Articles examining his every more as responses to the Twitter call out popped up in the blogosphere — was his liking of a Instagram post a passive aggressive rebuttal?

[jump] But last Saturday Drake broke his silence and dropped “Charged Up,” a response that was mostly rounded off at the edges. As the rap world's attention turned back to Meek, waiting for his inevitable response, Drake dropped another, more aggressive diss track this morning, aptly titled “Back to Back (Freestyle),” featuring the antagonizing line “I waited four days, nigga, where y’all at?”

The cover art features an iconic photo of Joe Carter, the Toronto Blue Jay's 1993 world series hero whose bottom of the ninth home run put the nail in the coffin of the Philadelphia Phillies (Meek's hometown team). But the song isn't a city vs. city beef. It's personal, which is why Drake takes aim at Meek Mill's relationship with Minaj.

“This for y’all that think that I don’t write enough/ They just mad ’cause I got the Midas touch/ You love her, then you gotta give the world to her/ Is that a world tour or your girl’s tour?/ I know that you gotta be a thug for her/ This ain’t what she meant when she told you to open up more/ Yeah, trigger fingers turn to Twitter fingers/ Yeah, you getting bodied by a singing nigga/ I’m not the type of nigga that’ll type to niggas/ And shout to all my boss bitches wifin’ niggas/ Make sure you hit him with the pre-nup/ Damn, tell that man to ease up/ I did another one, I did another one/ You still ain’t did shit about the other one”

We'll see how Meek Mill responds.
