Fleet Foxes: Show Preview

Watching a neo-folk band in Berkeley ordinarily means spending the evening watching students get stoned and rubbing up against piles of hippies. But Fleet Foxes are no ordinary nostalgia-fest. Their scope goes so far beyond the genre that their audience is now as diverse as you'll encounter. It's all thanks to the Seattle sextet's beautiful intermingling of '60s folk sensibilities with modern indie panache and a touch of soul. And don't forget that singer Robin Pecknold's echoing vocals — and all those lush harmonies the band members are famed for — should sound spectacular in a large amphitheatre.
