Gorillaz, Lorde, the Who, and Metallica Headline Outside Lands

Also, Dr. Octagon, Belle and Sebastian, Alt-J, and more.

Outside Lands 2017 released the lineup for its 10th go-round this morning, and our favorite fog-bathed three-day music festival scored some good ones this year: Lorde, Gorillaz, and A Tribe Called Quest will be here, as will quasi-locals Metallica — who last played in 2012.

And if you referred to last October’s Desert Trip as “Oldchella” or maybe the “Last Chance Tour,” guess what? The Who are coming, straight from a week-plus Vegas residency. (Pete Townshend likes playing to younger crowds, anyway.)

Beneath the headliners are a bunch of solid acts, like Solange (who we were hoping would be Beyonce’s special guest at Coachella, oh well), Fleet Foxes, Belle and Sebastian, Little Dragon, Queens of the Stone Age, Empire of the Sun, Bomba Estereo, Action Bronson, Dr. Octagon, The Avett Brothers, Tove Lo, Warpaint, Future Islands, and Sleigh Bells. Check out the full lineup here.

Tickets ($375-$795) go on sale Thursday, April 6, at 10 a.m., and the festival itself is Aug. 11-13 in Golden Gate Park. See you beneath the windmill, texting your friend in the pizza leggings to meet you at the Panhandle Stage!
