Ahh, BFD. While other music festivals grow bigger and more full of celebrity weirdness, tents that have nothing to do with music, and bullshit #festival #fashion, LIVE 105's annual summer fest at the Shoreline is always a breath of reliably fresh radio-rock air.
[jump] Or maybe that's just the nostalgia talking. For some of us, BFD will always be a single moment during the summer after 8th grade, when we watched, entranced, as Tre from Green Day lit his drum kit on fire. Nothing was ever the same.
Anyway! This year BFD is turning 21, so look the fuck out. The lineup for the fest, which will take place Saturday, June 6, features an impressively hip mix of '90s throwbacks, newer buzz acts and — as always — a hefty serving of our finest local bands, including Waters, Cathedrals, K. Flay, The Family Crest, Panic Is Perfect, and more.
Headliners Modest Mouse, incidentally, just shared “Lampshades on Fire,” the first single from their forthcoming album, Strangers To Ourselves.
Pre-sale tickets go up this Monday, March 9 at 10 a.m. for the superfans; general on-sale is Saturday, March 14, also at 10 a.m. Prices range from $37.50 to $69.50.
