Better than: Listening to “Porcelain” anywhere else.
Moby is now 45 years old. He tweets about conservative Republicans and maintains an architecture blog. But last night, he managed to melt the faces off of the intimate crowd at Vessel for the second evening of the club's five-year anniversary celebration.
Confidently wearing a blue L.A. Dodgers cap, Moby slid into the DJ booth a little before midnight and began his set without uttering a word. Track after track was an onslaught of hard-hitting pandemonium. It only let up briefly, 40 minutes into his set, when Moby finally took mercy on the crowd and mellowed out with some entrancing tribal beats. And shortly afterwards, he jumped back into Basement Jaxx' “Where's Your Head At.”
