Vinylphiles say it all the time: Listening to music on wax is just better. The sound is warmer and fuller, if a bit more crackly. Choosing a record, clicking on the platter, and dropping the needle onto a black pancake just leads to a more satisfying experience than clicking through tracks on your iTunes window.
But many of us these days have our music collections on digital devices like laptops or iPads. And there's no way to reproduce the vinyl listening experience without acquiring all that music over again, right?
Well, there didn't used to be. Now there's VinylLove — a strange new app from Swedish firm Color Monkey that turns your iPad into a virtual turntable, complete with crate-digging, needle-dropping, and even that lovable dusty crackle.
