So the Noise Pop Festival is a series of indie-focused shows that takes place at the end of February in San Francisco. Right? Well, yes, but this year the festival is morphing into something else as well. Organizers just announced what will be the “centerpiece” of this year's event: the Noise Pop Headquarters, a big space that will host film screenings, live shows, happy hour parties, brunches, exhibits, clothing markets, and more.
The “Headquarters” is really the existing warehouse of the New Black, an art gallery/design space in the Mission that Noise Pop will be taking over from Feb. 25 to March 2. Events at the space will include a Feb. 26 screening of Our Vinyl Weighs a Ton: This Is Stones Throw Records, followed by a show with label founder Peanut Butter Wolf, J. Rocc, and other Stones Throw artists. The music/video website Yours Truly will be exhibiting pictures, video portraits, and letters on March 1.
