The Noise Pop Festival's 20th Anniversary Year Is Go

Yep, it's here: Noise Pop, the little San Francisco indie music fest that turned into a big one, opens its 20th year with two shows tonight and continues all week in venues around town. We will have oodles of festival coverage here on All Shook Down, including reviews of many of the festival's most anticipated (and sold-out) shows, so please check back often. And we don't want to say too much, but those of you with an interest in Noise Pop and/or Bay Area indie music in general should make sure to grab a copy of tomorrow's SF Weekly, which we're especially proud of (and exhausted from).

In the meantime, Check out our interview with Wayne Coyne of the Flaming Lips, where he goes in-depth about the band's career-and-life-changing album, The Soft Bulletin, which will be performed in full tonight at Bimbo's. And it's worth noting that, Coyne, Bob Mould, and Noise Pop co-producer Jordan Kurland are all appearing today on KQED's Forum talk show at 10 a.m., and taking your questions in what's sure to be an indie rock love-in. (Update: Their segment is now online.)
