Noise Pop announced the first half of the lineup for its 26th festival, to be held Feb. 19-25, 2018, and it’s pretty spiffy. Since it’s spread over seven nights and 17 venues, there’s not really a headliner per se, but Oakland’s own Merrill Garbus, better known as tUnE-yArDs, and Real Estate have top billing, along with San Francisco’s Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, and New York punk-rockers Parquet Courts, who played Noise Pop a couple year ago. Also of note is Sam Fermin, who’ll perform alongside The Magik*Magik Orchestra in a can’t-miss collab.
Festival badges and individual tickets go on sale this Friday, Oct. 27, at 10 a.m. — and if you want to get in on that Early Bird ($145) pricing, make haste, because once they’re gone, the cost goes up to $175 and increases in stages over the months to come.
This year, the badges grant you access to film screenings — which, in prior years, required separate tickets. They also get you into all general-admission shows, select happy hours, Noise Pop HQ, and other yet-to-be-announced events. VIP-tier Super Fan Badges ($399) are on sale as of today, Oct. 24, and get you guaranteed entry to everything, concierge service, and lots of complimentary drink tickets.
The last benefit of the badges might be the best: a wait-list. If you don’t obtain tickets to certain shows before they sell out — and in 2017, 90 percent of the shows did just that — you’ll have another shot at getting in the door.
