Opponents of Supervisor David Campos's proposed moratorium on market-rate housing development in the Mission District have a come up with a way to delay consideration of the delay on housing, the San Francisco Business Times reports.
Supervisors Mark Farrell and Scott Wiener are requesting that the city controller's office undertake a month-long study of the economic impacts of the moratorium, including how it would affect “housing production, rents, eviction pressures, and citywide economic effects.”

“We can’t make public policy in San Francisco on emotional reactions, and I believe it’s critically important before moving forward that we have a full picture on what legislation will do to San Francisco and what it will do to affordable housing in our city,” Farrell, who represents northern neighborhoods like Pacific Heights and the Marina, told the Business Times.
A moratorium on voting on the moratorium is just the kind of moratorium Farrell and Wiener can get behind.
