Four People Stabbed in Fight Over Oakland Pit Bull

Proving once again that some pit bull owners may be of greater concern to the community then the much maligned dog breed, an article in today's Oakland Tribune describes a fight over one of the dogs that resulted in multiple stabbings. Around 11 a.m. on Sunday, an unnamed father and two sons fought over a pit bull with a fourth man named Lamont Smith. Smith stabbed one of the sons, 22, in the stomach, and the father and 16-year-old son received cuts to their hands when they joined the fray.

Police said the fourth person, Lamont Smith, a 30-year-old self-described transient, stabbed the 22-year-old and later was cut himself. He fled the scene, police said, but was arrested about 2:30 p.m. at San Leandro Hospital, where he had gone to be treated for a knife wound.

When the police show up at the hospital where you are being treated for stab wounds, do yourself a favor, pick a slightly less shady word than “transient.”-Andy Wright
