Librarians Stop Stabbing, Kick Ass in General

If there's one thing we've learned this fall, it's that you don't fuck with librarians. (Just ask Airbnb how that went for them.)

So it should come as no surprise that the staff of the San Francisco Public Library, in between helping people access all the knowledge in the universe and setting up cool programs and stuff, are legitimate action heroes.

[jump] Yesterday, library staff and patrons intervened in a suspected attempted murder in the library, the San Francisco Examiner reports:

Louis Kessler, 40, allegedly kicked in the door of a first-floor bathroom stall and stabbed the man inside several times in the face and head around 4:40 p.m., police said. The victim tried to get away but couldn’t.

The stabbing was broken up by several bystanders and Christian Klotz, a health and safety associate at the scene, according to library officials.

The suspect was detained until police arrived, and the victim is expected to survive his injuries.

We'd like to see a sharing economy platform pull that kind of feat off, but they probably couldn't get involved due to liability issues
