The California Highway Patrol has a man in custody after he threatened to jump from northbound Highway 101, creating a traffic jam in San Francisco.
According to Officer Michael Ferguson, officers were called to the the highway at about 1:30 p.m. on reports of pedestrian on the freeway. When they arrived they saw the man running in between the lanes and standing on the guardrail indicating he might jump, Ferguson said.
Police closed three northbound lanes of Highway 101 and diverted traffic around the incident. Officers were able to make contact with the man and talk him down, Ferguson told us.
