Muni Employee Punched While Writing Fare Evasion Citation

Sometimes, a free Muni ride just isn't worth it.

At about 11:11 a.m. on Thursday, someone called the cops to report that a man was causing trouble at a Muni station in the Excelsior neighborhood. Two Muni employees had stopped a man for skipping out on his $2 train fare.

As one of the transit employees wrote the man a citation, he hit her, elevating his fare evasion offense to battery.

Another Muni employee called the cops while two others struggled to hold the man down.
