The 65-year-old woman struck and killed by a U.C. San Francisco shuttle bus yesterday has been identified by the San Francisco Medical Examiner's office. Releasing her name to the general public may take a while, however, as her family must first be notified — and getting a hold of them will require going through an undisclosed consulate.
The foreign-born San Francisco resident was walking through the crosswalk at Geary and Leavenworth a shade before 12:30 p.m. yesterday when the shuttle turned left and ran into her. Sadly, when the driver backed up, he ran over the woman a second time.
