A man is reported to have died at Rockridge BART Station in Oakland on Monday afternoon after being hit by a train. Shortly after 3 p.m. the transportation agency tweeted that a “major medical emergency” had taken place.
I heard the Rockridge Bart honk it’s horn from my house about four times and then 5 min later lots of sirens so I listened to the scanner…not good! Feel bad for the train driver

Around 4 p.m. BART tweeted that the coroner was on the way. Trains are continuing to run through the station, but are not stopping. A/C transit bus #51A and 51B can be caught to Rockridge from the 19th Street Station.
The station was reopened around 5 p.m.
