Person Killed at Rockridge BART Station Monday Afternoon

Details are slim, but BART did tweet that a coroner was on the scene.

A man is reported to have died at Rockridge BART Station in Oakland on Monday afternoon after being hit by a train. Shortly after 3 p.m. the transportation agency tweeted that a “major medical emergency” had taken place. 


Around 4 p.m. BART tweeted that the coroner was on the way. Trains are continuing to run through the station, but are not stopping.  A/C transit bus #51A and 51B can be caught to Rockridge from the 19th Street Station.

The station was reopened around 5 p.m.
