Robert Spitzer, Author of Study Legitimizing Ex-Gay Therapy, Now Says It Doesn't Work

On Monday, the scientific community told gay-bashers everywhere that their homophobia probably comes from actually being gay. And now more bad news to all the homophobes out there: Science definitively agrees that there's no evidence homosexuality can be “cured.”

Now might be a good time to uninstall your gay-cure app.

In this week's American Prospect, Robert Spitzer, author of the controversial and oft-cited 2001 study that concluded that some gay people could become straight if they tried hard enough, tells reporter Gabriel Arana that he now rejects that research, and that he tried to retract the paper soon after it was published.
