It's a sad, sad day when we have to be bribed to get some exercise. But clearly money and prizes are what it's gong to take to get some of you to off your lazy rumps and walk to work tomorrow.
As part of National walk to Work Day, WalkSF is asking all San Franciscans to hike to their place of employment tomorrow and then tweet about it or post about their trek on Facebook. In exchange, the nonprofit group will enter those sauntering San Franciscans into a prize drawing where participants can win a bunch of cool stuff from Sports Basement and other outdoorsy retailers.
“We're looking forward to hearing what people notice when they walk,” said Elizabeth Stampe, executive director of Walk San Francisco, the city's pedestrian advocacy group. “What are the best parts of your walk? What feels unsafe? What would encourage you to walk more?”
