A priest at St. Raymond's Catholic Church in Menlo Park has been removed from his duties after officials with the Archdiocese of San Francisco learned he had followed a 17-year-old member of his congregation into a department store dressing room.
The Archdiocese said it was informed Thursday of the incident involving Father William Meyers, the church's pastor. In a visit to the church, San Francisco Bishop William Justice said that “nothing happened” and “the young man said he was never touched,” according to KTVU. The boy's father apparently reported the incident to police, who determined no criminal activity had taken place.
Nevertheless, Meyers has been placed on leave.
