Folk legend, activist, and Bay Area local, Joan Baez thrilled the audience at the packed Fox Theater in Oakland on Monday, November 7th, the night before the presidential election. The show was the final night of Baez’s national tour, and the second sold out show in Oakland. Baez, 75, in a topical display of fashion, wore a shirt that read “Nasty Woman” and her instrumentalists Dirk Powell, and son Gabriel Harris dawned “Bad Hombre” shirts. Joan performed many of her classic songs including “Diamonds and Rust”, “Joe Hill”, and several of, her former collaborator, Bob Dylan’s songs including “With God on Our Side”.
