The Surrealistic Summer Solstice on June 21st in Golden Gate Park brought together an eclectic group of musicians, visual artists, and a crowd of all ages. Members of Jefferson Airplane, Phil Lesh and Friends, Big Brother and the Holding Company, Moonalice, ALO, The Chambers Brothers, Midnight North, Katdelic, The Mother Hips, and more, with musical director Dan Lebowitz performed for the grateful audience of thousands with songs from the late 60s. At the end of the night a temporary psychedelic lighting display at the Conservatory of Flowers was launched to the accompaniment of recordings from the 60s. The evening felt like the Summer of Love anniversary celebration that we had been hoping for.
