Legendary thrash metal band Slayer have been a constant force with a rabid fan base over the life of the project. On their farewell tour, Slayer performed at Oakland’s RingCentral coliseum this past Tuesday, November 26th. Despite heavy traffic and heavy rain making attending the show a challenge in itself, the sold out venue was packed with ecstatic fans.
Kicking off their show with a recording of the track ‘Delusions of Savior’, a curtain covering the stage was projected with the Slayer logo and related iconography. Pyrotechnics had blasts of fire illuminating the stage as the band immediately dove into the song ‘Repentless’, and a set spanning the band’s history, with an emphasis on the albums ‘Reign in Blood’ and ‘Seasons in the Abyss’. The bands Primus, Ministry, and Phil Anselmo and the Illegals opened the night.
