Truly fresh, handmade Chinese dumplings are an art form and nowhere is this mastery better exhibited than at San Francisco’s Kingdom of Dumpling, a delicious adventure in Chinese cuisine found nestled in the Sunset District.
The quaint, charming and cozy eatery offers a variety of dishes but is best known for its divine, handmade dumplings packed with a king’s ransom of flavorsome and intriguing fillings, with 21 choices; truly a dumpling lover’s dream come true. The small, delightfully tantalizing treats are served piping hot from the pot, surrounded by savory broth and oozing with yummy goodness, piquant and filling enough to satisfy a craving for simply to-die-for eats.
Don’t miss the Shanghai Soup Dumpling, traditionally made with ground pork, pork aspic and other heavenly ingredients, that once steamed, creates a mouthwatering soup that explodes in the mouth when biting into the delicate yet plump dumpling skin to get to the ambrosia inside.
Other tempting offerings include tasty Shanghai soup noodles, tofu noodles served cold in a sauce (not your average noodle!) and definitely consider the lamb dumplings along with the Shanghai dumpling soup.
Kingdom of Dumpling is a smaller establishment and seats are as hard to come by as front row seats at a Taylor Swift concert, but well worth the effort, so come by early; take-out is available and can be ordered online for convenience.
